During this period, we scope and design the system and supporting network, hardware, software, and infrastructure needed for the project.
The first goal of the architecture phase is to collect system and process requirements to develop a baseline for the Architecture and design plan. We define the project perimeter and high-level requirements such as process, function, technology, organization, then prioritize those requirements based on specific criteria like business objectives, developed with agency input. One of the important deliverables from this phase is a precise appraisal of the architecture phase and a range for the engineering phase.
The second goal of the architecture phase is to create a plan with specificity and completeness of coverage so that system(s) for the project can be assembled, tested, and implemented on time (and on budget). |
